City Centre, Holyrood Park, Portobello Guided Tour

On our guided cycle ride (2.5 to 3 hours, 18 km) see the rich diversity which Edinburgh has to offer. Much of the city  is best experienced on a bike: picturesque cycle paths,  iconic sites in the heart of the city, verdant Holyrood Park and Portobello coastal promenade.

We start heading west from our office along a designated cycle path through Leith. Cycle through the historic New Town. After a short, steep climb through residential streets in this UNESCO World Heritage Site we cross Princes Street. You have the best views of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street Gardens. Then we  head down the lower section of The Royal Mile. We experience some of the history of the Old Town as we cycle to Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament.

The scenery then changes as we enter Holyrood Park and look up to Arthur’s Seat. We take another quiet cycle path, along the route of a disused railway line. We cycle gently down hill though some parks and suburbs to Edinburgh’s beach at Portobello. We enjoy a spin along Portobello Promenade and then back to Leith.

There’s no better way to see the dramatic and contrasting cityscape of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.
